When replacing our gas stove, is it really necessary to replace the flexible pipe that is attached to the gas pipe? It looks pretty good.

It is absolutely necessary to replace the flexible pipe. Never reuse it. Here’s why: even though it may look good to the eye, over time, repeated flexing causes small cracks to develop. Always install up-to-code, new coated flexible connectors and don’t over-bend. Even the best connectors have limits.

My in-sink disposal is clogged. Any tips?

Yes! Don’t turn on the disposal repeatedly when clogged. That will burn out the motor. Instead, insert a hex headed Allen wrench into the six sided slot located in the bottom center of the unit. Rotate in both directions until it spins freely. If that doesn’t work, give us a call! Click to contact us now

How often do I need maintenance on my kitchen plumbing system?

Just like all plumbing systems, you should schedule annual maintenance for your kitchen plumbing system.

What are some signs that my heating system needs repairs?

It is likely your heating system needs to be looked at if it is not producing warm air, there is little airflow coming through your vents, it is frequently cycling, is making sudden and unexpected noises, or if your heating bills seem to be much higher than before.

What are some common heating repair problems?

Heating systems have many parts, any one of which can experience trouble leading to the need for heating repair.  Some common issues with heating systems include faulty ignitors, malfunctioning thermostats, dirty burners, bad blower motors, and faulty flame sensors.

Which types of heating systems need maintenance the most?

All heating systems must have annual maintenance. Natural gas-powered systems, such as gas furnaces, need maintenance to keep them operating safely. But any heating system will suffer from problems, such as a rise in operating costs and the risk of a breakdown, without a regular inspection and tune-up.

How can I improve the efficiency of my furnace? How can I help maintain it?

A tune-up will help improve your furnace’s efficiency.  During a tune-up, an HVAC technician will clean the blower and that will help with the efficiency.  To maintain your furnace between inspections, the most important thing you can do is make sure you keep your filter clean and change it when needed.

How often do I need a tune-up for my heating system?

A heating tune-up should be scheduled at least once a year before heating season starts. This helps to prevent any problems or repairs during the colder months when you need your heater the most.
